Hi everyone! How have you been doing? Are you suffering from hayfever? Some of the students and staff say that the pollen from the trees and flowers is really strong this year, but others say that it is not too bad. Which category are you in?
The students at HIUC have just completed week five of the spring semester. For most of them, that means they just have five more weeks left before they begin preparing to go abroad.
Last week, most of the students were quite busy. They had presentations, essays, and of course midterms. The midterm tests gave the students a taste of what they may experience in university. The tests ranged from 12 pages of short answer questions all the way up to 25 pages with multiple choice questions and diagrams for the biology class.
Each student in E class had to give a midterm presentation on a famous American. They had to research that person and then connect that person's life with the American values which they are learning in the class. In this case they had to infer (connect information by themselves) instead of just copying some information.
Some pictures of the presentations:
After all the presentations, students ask questions to the presenter.
However, it's not all work at HIUC! Here's a photo of the students in E class having fun between classes. Have a great week!!
