北野高校での「学内留学講座」

今年で、北野高校での「学内留学講座」も3年目となりました。

2014年4月から、文部科学省によりグローバルリーダーズハイスクールの選考が行われ、全国より56校の指定校が選ばれて、特色あるグローバル人材(高校生)育成が本格的に始まりました。
北野高校では、「アジアと学び合う ―夢を実現する国づくり―」をもとに様々な取り組みを始めています。本学では、高校1年生・2年生を中心に、海外大学で実施される一般教養(ビジネス学・法学・教育学)に、新に心理学を加え、ネイティブ講師による授業を提供しました。海外大学の講義そのものを実体験することで、参加型授業・グループワーク・ディスカッションなども積極的に行い、最終日には科目毎の代表グループによるプレゼンテーションを実施し表彰を行いました。

参加している44名の生徒は、ケーススタディで学んだ理論をもとに、英語でのプレゼンテーションに向け準備を進めます。最終回のプレゼンテーションのテーマは、以下となります。

(A講座 Business Course)

Presentation 1: Analyze a product

Each group has to choose a different product and each member of the group has to choose a different company. Then each member analyses their product and explain differentiation (what separates it from the competitors) and market (who is it geared towards). They share the info with their group members and teach their info to the other groups.

Presentation 2: McDonald's Case Studies

Each group has to analyze a different McDonald's case study. They have to identify the business environment and global trading factors.

(B講座 Education)

Presentation 1: Analyze one of their classes (Solo)

Each student has to analyze one of the regular classes they have had this year.They need to analyze how the class matches the VAK (Visual, Auditory, and Kinesthetic) Learning Styles and/or Multiple Intelligences that they learnt about.

Presentation 2: Describe a class they would teach (Group)

Each group has to plan a regular class lesson. They need to show or tell what kinds of activities they would do in the class. They need to tell what VAK Learning Styles and/ or Multiple Intelligences the lesson would touch on.

(C講座 Law)

Presentation 1: Talk about a crime

They need to talk about a local crime or at least a crime that happened in Japan. They need to talk about the facts of the crime - who, what, where, when.

They should say what the person was charged with or should be charged with.

Finally, they should play the part of a judge what penalty the person should receive and why.

Presentation 2: Moral Issue or Analyze a contract (they have to choose either.)

(Moral issue) They have to choose a moral issue. They talk about the pros and cons of the topic. Finally, they tell what their feelings are about it.

(Analyze a contract) they take a contract and talk about the different parts of the contract.

(D講座 Psychology)

Presentation - there is one group presentation

It is 12 to 15 minutes long

Students use PowerPoint

It is give them practice applying the skills of psychology to the real world.

Students present about a new product that will be sold in supermarkets across Japan.

They need to use what they studied in the psychology class and they need to explain how they plan to influence shoppers to buy the product - links to day 1. 

They also have to create a static ad to and explain how it will influence shoppers - links to day 2 and 3.

最終プレゼンテーションは、それぞれ1グループがエントリーして全体で集まり発表しました。

また、12名の優秀者を選び表彰しました。今回も高校1年生が中心となりましたが、みんな最後まで一生懸命・積極的に頑張ってくれました。ネイティブ講師も、今年度も最後にとても良いプレゼンテーションができたことを喜んでいました。終了セレモニーの後では、生徒たちからネイティブ講師へ声掛けしてくれてクラス写真や一緒に写真を撮るなど、とても良い雰囲気で今回の学内留学も終了しました。
