The last day of class, we had some fun classroom activities planned

Welcome back. Are you excited about your upcoming holidays? We hope that you have some exciting and / or relaxing plans for the New Year’s holiday. Our regular students are now on holidays and are working on their winter homework. Their last class was on December 17, 2014 and they will start the rest of the semester on January 8, 2015.

On the last day of class, we had some fun classroom activities planned. Students gave speeches about how to do a certain activity. One student taught the class how to tie a scarf in 3 fashionable ways.

Our resident Rubik’s cube expert showed how to do a magic trick with the cube.

Another speech was about how to turn a kiwi into a flower.

6A different teacher
asked the students to interview one another to see what item in their house
they could not live without. Students could talk about electricity, their
phone, computer or a favorite picture or album.

Today we are excited about our special studies courses we are offering for all our students and even some people who are thinking about coming to HIUC. We are running three courses to help our students get into a university of their choice. We have an IELTS course for the first time taught by one of our British teachers along with a TOEFL iBT course and a TOEFL iTP course. If you are not sure of the differences the following information may help you out. IELTS is one of the standard tests needed to study in the UK, Europe, and Oceania. In IELTS, candidates must have a one on one speaking interview with a qualified certifier. The TOEFL iBT test is around 4 hours long and has a Reading, Listening, Speaking and Writing component. For this Speaking section, candidates have to speak into a microphone and a computer will record their answer. The iTP has a Listening, Grammar and Reading Comprehension component. Hopefully, everyone will learn a lot of tips and strategies to be even more successful on their next test.

From everyone at HIUC, Happy Holidays and Best Wishes for 2015!!!
