Hello. I hope you are enjoying the warmer weather. Things are going well at HIUC Osaka. The students are working hard and continuing to improve.
The level 4 American culture class and the level 4 listening and speaking class have been busy. Last week, the students had to do a role-play. They had to convince another person to join their club. Their club is made up of chatty group-orientated people. However, the person they are talking to is a bit of a loner. The role-plays were good, and it looked like everyone had fun.
The listening and speaking students are also preparing presentations. They need to research a local problem and potential solutions to the problem. Some of the topics that students are thinking about include bike gangs, asthma, air, and water pollution.
The students in the American culture class recently did presentations on Native American tribes. In class, the students were studying about the American frontier. As part of that unit, the teacher had them pick a Native American tribe and do some research about where they were located and what their lifestyle was like. The presentations were interesting.
Have a good day.
