Winter Quarter begins!
A great first week back! GE students are getting introduced to the “real thing” after completing the ESL portion of the HIUC program. The next nine weeks of this term will probably be some of your most challenging over the next 5 years. Enjoy the journey! If you do not understand the importance of learning idioms on a daily basis, you can ask the GE students if they have come across any idioms in their GE textbooks. I promise you that they have:o)
The 5th period TOEFL seminar will start on the 19th of November. We hope to see as many of you as possible in the classroom! Push hard till the end of the year and you will be able to bring in the New Year in style! Do not miss this opportunity to make contact with TOEFL every single day. Even though many of you say that you do, your scores ce...rtainly do not reflect that. Spending 90 minutes a day on TOEFL material in a positive environment is just a super way to continue moving toward your goal of becoming a fluent English speaker and getting ready to go abroad! We want the very best for each of you!
President Obama was re-elected and many of you seemed interested in posting comments and congratulations about his victory. Japan will be having an election at the end of this year or early next year…..I expect to see the very same enthusiasm about your OWN country’s election!:o)) I hope that those of you who are 20 years of age or older go and VOTE!
